Welcome to the blog of Craig. I’m Craig Hall, Heavener Ledger publisher, writer, photographer and paper deliverer.
Today is June 19, the 169th day of the year, if you are keeping score at home and aren’t we all. There are 195 days left in 2022.
Please check out our daily newsletter at www.heavenerledger.substack.com. Subscriptions are only $5 a month and each morning you get our newsletter with exclusive content. This is our free Friday edition so guess what? All the content is free.
If you like our blog, please share with anybody you think might be interested. If you don’t care for it, let’s just keep that between us, tell us why and I will try to do better next time. This blog is free, so sign up for a subscription and get a new one whenever I write one.
Happy Father’s Day to all the fathers, grandfathers, etc. We lost my father, Gene Hall, in 2008 and I have missed him ever since. He taught me so much and I failed to thank him for everything he did. Every game I played in, my father was in the stands and he and my mother kept our household together for over 50 years, providing a safe home, food and clothing. And he loved us, even when I screwed up, which happened way too often.
We survived the ninth birthday party for Khloe yesterday. Barely. Had to clean up the patio and finish mowing before the festivities started. Then, I fired up the grill and cooked many burgs and dogs. It was hot. I don’t recall it being that hot before, but I am probably wrong. Trish the wife is all worn out also. I’m glad this only happens once a year.
For some reason I will probably never understand, Trish wanted a Pepsi this morning around 5, and naturally wasn’t dressed, and asked me to go to the store. I voiced my displeasure, not that it would do any good. I didn’t think the nearest store was open that early, but they were. I started driving there and noticed I had put my shirt on inside-out. I wondered if it would make me look dumb, then didn’t figure I would see anybody. I pulled up in the parking lot. The store was open and people were already there so I fixed my shirt, got the wife her drink and a bag of crackers.
Misty, my daughter-in-law, fixed my glasses so I can see again. That was a big relief, of course, as the old glasses still worked, but I could not see worth a heck.
If you dudes and dudesses are free tomorrow, come and check out our political meet and greet at 6 p.m. at the Heavener PAC. Obviously, I feel this is important, or I wouldn’t mess with it. We will honor our subscribers by reserving the front row of tables for them. It’s free, of course, and I hope a good crowd attends.
The primary election is just over a week away and this might be your last chance to hear the candidates.
I am rethinking my use of social media. I have too many idiots on Twitter, who I do not necessarily follow, but still show up on my time line. I like Twitter better than Facebook because it tends to have more information that I want to see than Facebook does. So I started deleting everybody who makes a comment I do not agree with or follows somebody who makes a silly comment. So, there. Losing one Craig Hall as a follower obviously will have a big impact on their day and life.
Thank you again for the visit and please share this with anybody you think might be interested. We also hope you have a great day and an excellent weekend.
