By CRAIG HALL
Welcome to today’s blog. Again, this is Craig Hall and I am the Heavener Ledger publisher, writer, photographer and generally good guy.
Today is June 22, the 172ndst day of the year. There are 192 days left in 2022.
If you like our blog, please share with anybody you think might be interested. If you don’t care for it, let’s just keep that between us. Tell me why and I will try to do better next time. This blog is free, so sign up for a subscription and get a new one whenever I write one.
This week’s newspaper has already been sent off for publishing. You can see what it looks like on the attached photograph, and you, our fine readers get first look at it. As has been our custom over the last few weeks since our deadline was pushed up, some of the papers will be delivered while the papers will be taken to the post office tomorrow morning. Early.
Unfortunately, my paper deliverer person Khloe is at her mother’s and will probably not be with me to deliver this evening. She likes to take many papers up to our subscriber’s house. I told her she is spoiling the customer since it would take me too much time to do the same, but she continues to do so.
I must make an apology. In yesterday’s blog/column, I referred Jamie Oliver to Ollar. I must have had temporary brain fartedness as I know his last name is Oliver, have known it for a number of years and apologize to Jamie and his family. I will try to do better.
I also failed to thank Heavener Public Schools and Superintendent Ed Wilson for letting us use the PAC for Monday’s political meet and greet. The school and its people have always been great for assisting us. So thanks.
We have stories about the upcoming elections, our usual columns, guess who and much more. If you want to help your good bud and pal Craig out, you can subscribe to the Ledger at heavenerledger.com.
Just so you know, our e-edition is only $24 per year and is always published before the paper is printed so you get an early look, way before paper subscribers or store shoppers. Plus, the e-edition is all color and we don’t kill any trees to put it out.
Firework stands are starting to pop up around the area. I have already told Khloe we will get the fireworks early this year instead of waiting to the last minute, when the supply has been diminished. But we still won’t explode any fireworks until the fourth, which is also Trish the wife’s birthday, that firecracker.
On our online radio station, we have gone with non-copyright music, which basically means free, along with county weather, news, sports, obits and more. It hasn’t caught on like I hoped. If you have not checked it out, go to
https://leflorecountyradio.com/
and listen. The current music is just to listen to and chill, but we might have to change over to another format. If you have an opinion, let me know.
Another heat advisory has been issued for Wednesday so if you have to spend time outside, be careful and don’t heat stroke on us. Take frequent breaks and remember, air conditioning is your friend.
Knock on wood, but our pool actually seems to be running good at the moment. It has been a frustrating experience this year as many things have messed up and it seems to be a constant headache.
With our staff scattered, the one thing that has been negative about the whole experience is our customer service has suffered. If you need to contact the Ledger and can’t get us on the phone, please email me at craig@heavenerledger.com or you can also text us at (918) 653-2425 or (844) 673-0508.
Many people send messages to the Ledger’s Facebook account. Trish the wife helps me monitor those, but I do not spend much time on Facebook so that is not the best way to reach the Ledger. Instead, use one of the ways mentioned above.
I just posted the contact information on Facebook and it asked me if I wanted to post a chat button to Facebook. That is what I am trying to get away from, duh.
Hey, have a good day on this hump day, and be nice. Seriously.
